Territory Series — Guatemala Antigua
Field Note — Antigua, Guatemala
Antigua is the region that put Guatemalan coffee on the map — a valley framed by two volcanoes, Agua and Fuego, in the department of Sacatepéquez. The reputation runs deep enough that Antigua coffee carries a protected designation of origin. Farms here still grow under a canopy of grevillea and native chalum trees, the old way, shade holding the ground and the cup together.
This lot comes through a historic wet mill in the valley, run by Los Volcanes Coffee — a team of cuppers, roasters, and agronomists who spent years learning nearly every farm in the region before they ever ran a mill of their own. Cherry arrives daily from dozens of smallholder communities across the valley, inspected for uniformity, depulped, and fermented up to 72 hours in temperature-controlled ceramic tanks under the eye of dedicated processing managers. Every batch is cupped and profiled before it’s blended, bringing precision to a scale most operations can’t touch. The result: a consistent, well-built cup drawn from real diversity of ground.
Tasting Notes by Roast
• Medium: Clean and balanced — not too acidic, not too bitter. Sweet-edged with a full mix of floral, chocolate, and nutty tones.
• Dark: Smooth and semi-sweet, low acid, deeply chocolaty.
Batch roasted. Always fresh.
Freshness Policy
Every bag is roasted within the last 14 days in small batches. Orders ship within 3 days of your purchase.
We will never ship out stale coffee. The Frontier demanded only the best, and so do we.
Ground Coffee Disclaimer
In order to give the best coffee drinking experience, each bag is batch roasted, bagged as whole beans (this allows the coffee flavors and notes to really bloom), and then carefully sealed.
If ground coffee is ordered, we will open the bag(s) no older than two weeks old and grind per order. This is done to prevent back stock of ground coffee from sitting on the shelf and going stale.
Ground coffee stays fresh for about a week or two after grinding, where as whole bean can last for up to 2-3 months. This is why whole bean coffee is always recommended for the best and longest lasting experience.
*All sanitary precautions are taken while grinding orders*
