Territory Series — Kenya Kirinyaga AA
Field Note — Kenya
Kirinyaga County. Shadow of Mt. Kenya. One of the most lush environments in the country — jungle-like, with reliable rainfall and deep shade. As you move away from the mountain, the climate dries quickly. Kirinyaga doesn’t. That matters.
What separates Kenya from most other producing nations is how it organizes farmers into Farmer Cooperative Societies — locally owned, locally run collectives that give every grower the support, knowledge, and tools to produce exceptional coffee. The dry milling and auction system that follows is among the most technically impressive in the world. Every export lot is a gem. This one is a Top Lot AA — the best of what that system produces.
Tasting Notes by Roast
- Light: Lemon and orange citrus, red fruit, honey fragrance. Bright, tea-like body with a clean, snappy finish.
- Medium: Creamy cocoa, blueberry sweetness, mellow orange acidity. The fruit folds gracefully — silky and balanced.
- Dark: Bittersweet chocolate, roasted nuts, low acidity with a subtle spicy edge. Rich and smooth.
Small batch. Roasted to order.
