Field Note — Mexico Southern
Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Veracruz. Three of Mexico’s premier growing regions, united under one lot. Shade-grown by smallholder farmers at altitude, many of them working within the buffer zones of the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve — where growing coffee isn’t just a livelihood, it’s what keeps the forest standing.
Old varieties. Bourbon, Typica, Mundo Novo. Lower yielding, more susceptible to disease, preserved here because the cup quality justifies it.
Tasting Notes by Roast
• Medium: Semi-sweet chocolate, nutty undertones, creamy body. The bean starts showing what it’s really about.
• Dark: Full chocolate, smooth texture, low acidity. Classic espresso territory. Add milk and it disappears into something remarkable.
Batch roasted. Always fresh.
Freshness Policy
Every bag is roasted within the last 14 days in small batches. Orders ship within 3 days of your purchase.
We will never ship out stale coffee. The Frontier demanded only the best, and so do we.
Ground Coffee Disclaimer
In order to give the best coffee drinking experience, each bag is batch roasted, bagged as whole beans (this allows the coffee flavors and notes to really bloom), and then carefully sealed.
If ground coffee is ordered, we will open the bag(s) no older than two weeks old and grind per order. This is done to prevent back stock of ground coffee from sitting on the shelf and going stale.
Ground coffee stays fresh for about a week or two after grinding, where as whole bean can last for up to 2-3 months. This is why whole bean coffee is always recommended for the best and longest lasting experience.
